The desyncs are still making problems although there are now some betatest-versions who work without desyncs. Unsure is if the w3mmd scripting increases the desync-risk although it should only be running at the end of the map...
Version 4.41m for example had 10 games withough a desync yet. 4.41m is mainly like 4.41f which was stable in 15 games. Only difference between 4.41f and 4.41m ist that the dodo-scriptings have been activated. 4.41m worked stable in 10 games yet (still more testgames appreciated). 4.41n has the w3mmd included and had in 4 testgames already one desync. But that is maybe a bit too low to validate it was not a random thing. The only difference between 4.41n and 4.41m is that I deactivated the gui-trigger of the w3mmd (scores) scripting (attached to this posting), which only runs in the endscripting of the map. Still it seems to have caused a desync at start... The normal w3mmd libary (also attached to this posting) is included in most testversions, expecially also in the "save" versions (all in all about 35 games without desync).
It also looks as if there are maybe also other reasons for desyncs. The following scriptings are still deactivated in the last known stable version (4.41m): - w3mmd (scores) - Terrain randomizer - admin activator - (auto- &)upgrading - -trader & -income & -gold; Lumber fix for traders (was forgotten b4) - missiles - gobbo sight - regrow trees - timecontrol
In version 4.41o I deactivated the w3mmd trigger again, so its exactly the same as version 4.41m (same size too). This version was in testing to validate that its the w3mmd which causes the desync. Also 4.41n is still in testing to see if it really causes desyncs.
- one desync was reported in 4.41o but maybe thats acceptable... at last it seems to be less then b4 with the about 30% desync-rate ( 4,8 % risk of getting a desync per player per game)
New Testversion: 4.41p (would theoretically be releaseable as light version, with some other fixes of course) Activated: - w3mmd (scores) - Upgrading (not autoupgrading) - Admin activator - Gobbo Sight
Lets see if this one causes desync...
If any pro wants to take a look in the map scripting and look if there is a risk for a desync in it, its attached to this trigger. Note that only the GUI-part seems to make a difference and is only triggered in the endscriptings (enemy harbour dies, peace scripting). The reported desync happened directly after start. thanks...
